Weekly Class Schedule.
Muay Thai Boxing
At X-treme Mixed Martial Arts we put emphasis on Thailand's own martial art, Muay Thai. Students train to fight competitively or to to get in shape, but everyone is trained like a real fighter regardless of their goals. Classes are available to men and women and children of all skill and fitness levels. You will learn all powerful punches and kicks using knees and elbow techniques. We will teach you footwork and fighting distances. Also, you will learn fighting in close proximity and clinch positions. You learn effective attacking, defensive, and counterattacking strategies.
Submission wrestling
Submission wrestling is an aspect of martial arts and combat sports that focus on clinch and ground fighting with the aim of obtaining a submission using submission holds.
The sport of submission wrestling brings together techniques from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Folk American Wrestling (Catch-as-catch-can), Freestyle Wrestling, Judo and Sambo. Submission fighting as an element of a larger sport setting is very common in mixed martial arts, Pankration, catch wrestling, shootfighting, shooto
and others.
Scholastic Wrestling
Scholastic wrestling is the style of
amateur wrestling practiced at the
high school and
middle (junior high) school level in the
United States. The wrestling style is essentially
collegiate wrestling, with some slight modifications. Scholastic wrestling is also practiced in various wrestling clubs among younger participants and is more well known in those instances by the style's other name, folkstyle wrestling.
Points of Interest to Parents
Business Policy: see below
**Post
training is the key. If you play other sports I
am sure you participated in post training.
Wrestling is no different. You cannot expect to
be in "wrestling shape" after football. It is
different. Make sure you make the time to get in
the Post Training before wrestling practice
season begins.
Parents drop
off pick up policy:
*Drop
your son off, let him train, allow him to get the
most out of the coaching. Pick him up after
practice. I know you want to watch but simply it
distracts the coaching and effects your sons
performance. This a professional training gym.
Other clients come in for training. This is a
business, guest manners!
No use of the weights, heavy bags,
ropes, or balls unless instructed to do so. Not
a play area!
Street shoes must be taken off before
entering the wrestling room. There will be zero
tolerance on this policy. Please make sure your
son understands this policy as well. We want to maintain a clean and safe environment for the wrestlers.
Coaches, no sneakers on the mats! Set the
example.
The rest rooms are for relief not a play area. Zero tolerance on this.
Please put all Gatorade type liquids into a water bottle suction type container to avoid any spillage onto the mats. We recommend water bottles.
Please wait until you get to the wrestling room to put on your wrestling shoes. Please do not wear wrestling shoes from the parking lot to the room.
Headgear and wrestling shoes are mandatory.
Absolutely no coaching from the parents during practice.
If you most be in the room, we give many drink breaks during practice which would be the appropriate time to address your concerns with your son. Always feel free to address the coaches during any drink break as well with any concerns you may have.
Please keep young siblings at home.
Sometimes this can get difficult but it
distracts. If you have no choice but to bring
siblings keep them off the mats before and during practice for safety reasons.
If this action becomes an issue, you cannot
bring siblings in the the training facility.
This is a training center not a play ground.
Unattended children waiting for parents to finish training are parent responsibility not training center instructors or management staff. Zero tolerance on this.
We stress and recommend the kids shower after each and every practice. We will have in the wrestling room cleansing foam or wipes for the kids to apply before and after practice to protect against skin disease. We will also have a first aid kit at every practice.
Philosophy
As an CB Raider you are expected to
prepare yourself physically and mentally
for each and every opponent. This is
done by complete dedication and
sacrifice. You are further expected to
conduct yourself as a gentleman on the
mat as well as in school, in the
community and at home. We do not nor
will not accept anyone who will make us
look bad or ridiculous. The influence of
drugs, anti-social behavior and the like
is very great today. If being a wrestler
for the CB Raiders means enough to you,
the above problems should never be any
concern of yours!!
1. Goals
Individual - Middle School
State Champ
Regional Champ
District Champ
Winning Record
Varsity Competition
Individual - Youth
State Champ
Member of PA State Competition Team
National Qualifier
Tournament Champ
Winning Record
Qualify for State Tournament
2. Weight Loss
Weight loss is definitely a part of
wrestling. Dropping down one class is
very common. However, we do not want our
wrestlers "drying out" to make weight.
After month of hard workouts you can see
just about where you belong.
For you body to function it needs fuel
and water. Anyone who thinks that
shrinking their body will make them a
better wrestler is a fool. Only a
wrestler who enters the season fat and
way out of shape will be permitted to
keep on losing weight during the season.
We want our wrestlers to eat during the
season. If making weight means not
eating for 2 days before a match you are
in the wrong weight class! MOVE UP ONE!!
3. Discipline
It is too ideal to think that there will
be no discipline problems when you bring
60 different personalities together.
There are a few things that you can do
to "avoid" certain situations.
Don't be a class clown!! Let some other
person be the idiot. You don't have to
call attention to yourself. People know
who you are. YOU ARE ARE A RAIDER
WRESTLER!
Stay away from the places that breed
trouble! Even if your friends are in the
woods, bathrooms, etc. You should stay
away. Guilt by association is common.
Don't put yourself in jeopardy!!
Be respectful to your teachers,
administrators, custodians and to
yourselves. It is just as easy to have
manners than to not. "Please" "Thank
You" and "Excuse Me" will make you more
respected than "Huh?" "What?" "Yea" Do
what you're told!! You're a student NOT
a celebrity.
We do not want to lose anyone but if you
insist on trying to buck the system you
will be the loser in the end. CB RAIDERS
ARE DISCIPLINED!!
4. Academics
You are expected to pass every course
with at least a C. there are no excuses
to fail in school. Apply Yourself!! You
cannot learn in class how can we teach
you anything about wrestling? If you
cannot remember notes, homework or
assignment; how can you remember rules
or moves or wrestling? If you are "too
lazy" when it comes to school work you
will be "too lazy" when it comes to
"paying the price"
5. Self Esteem and Pride
There is no greater feeling than to have
your hand raised in victory after a
tough battle. Wrestling is one of the
one man vs. another man sports. There
are no gimmicks, trick plays or
equipment to use. You cannot blame a
loss on a teammate! If you lose. YOU
LOSE!
On the other hand when you win. YOU
WIN!!
It is the greatest feeling in the
world!!
There you are in the spotlight!!
A Hard worker
A Dedicated Athlete
The Best!!
6. Family Support
You may want your parents to read this
section. We know that you want support
but sometimes you may feel funny asking
your parents to come to the matches,
We'll do it for you:
7.To the Parents, Brothers and Sisters,
Your son/brother has undertaken a
tremendous challenge when he decided to
become a CB RAIDER Wrestler. We practice
3x per week for practically 2 hours and
our practices rank up with the best and
toughest. Some nights he may be tired,
have headache or just feel lousy. As a
wrestler he is expected to do homework
every night to achieve academically
also. He needs your support! Understand
him. He is under going tremendous
changes both psychologically and
physically! He is learning what the
world is all about.
One more thing. Especially to Moms! No
junk food around the house. Your son is
trying to maintain weight and keep in
shape. He needs fruits and vegetables,
not candy, pretzels and soda. For snacks
he should eat dry roasted nuts or eggs.
He does not have to stuff himself at
dinner time. His body is working
efficiently therefore he digest and
utilizes all of the food he eats. Take
the time to understand child nutrition.
Now, if you have watched him pay the
price, why not come out to see why? Just
think of the pride you will feel when
someone asks "Who's that super kid?" And
you say "That's my son" or "That's my
brother!!" Please, stop the rating
system! Please do not rate your son
among his team mates. Every wrestler
develops at a different pace. Every
wrestler is important to his team. This
stuff only matters when and if your son
continues to wrestle in middle and HS.
Enjoy the time and capture the moments!
Best times parents ...they are still
just kids. As they start to
grow....well, you see :)
8. Traveling Rules/ Home Match Rules
When we are traveling to events or at
wrestling at home matches; you are
expected to sit in your seat and be
quiet. Stay together and view the
matches. Wrestling demands mental
concentration. If the ride is a "party"
that is exactly how you will wrestle.
When we arrive at another school you are
to conduct yourselves as CB RAIDERS
Wrestlers which means first class. No
vandalism, no talking trash, no clowning
around. Even is some of your opponents
act like idiots, it does not justify
that we follow suit.
Be proud to be A RAIDER!! Show it!!
9. Practice Rules and Regulations
You practice everyday there is practice!
If you choose to go to another practice
room/team do it on your time not the
Raiders time!
No one leaves practice. If you do not
make at least two practices you will be
benched or replaced by another wrestler
for the weeks match
who wants it. ZERO TOLERANCE! ( ILLNESS, CCD ARE
ACCEPT IONS ) BUT NOT A TICKET TO
NOT SHOW FOR PRACTICE! Mandatory
Team Tournaments will be conducted
during the season. This will more than
likely be Top 100 events. Individual
Tournaments (PJW, MAWA) should be done
after your team season. If you enter a
tournament on your own and the
tournament date is on a regular match
date you should not go. The TEAM comes
first and so does your commitment. If
you choose to go to your Tournament
instead of the Team match. You will be
benched 2 team matches and another
wrestler will be in the line up or until
your commitment is 'regained' while at
practice.
Most important,
Do what you are told to do at practice.
If you cannot listen, you will not
learn.
10. Use of Whirlpool, Hydrocollator,
Steam baths, Saunas
Whirlpool, Hydrocollator pads,
Steam baths and Saunas are designed to
help injured muscles and joints. You are
not supposed to use them to lose weight.
When you dry out your body you cannot
function mentally or physically.
Dehydration can be very harmful.
Almost every case of a wrestler with
muscle cramps and spasms can be linked
to a sauna or steam bath. Losing 2 or 3
pounds the day of a match by sweating is
usually ok. Losing 5-10 pounds in a
sauna in a hour or two is insane.
Discipline yourself between meets so you
do not have to even consider drastic
measures to make weight. If you wrestled
off for the weight class make sure you
make the weight!. WE ARE COUNTING ON YOU!
11. Equipment
Make sure your shoes fit properly. You
will develop blisters if they do not.
Also, do not run in your wrestling
shoes. First of all they do not have
arches support. Second, they will fall
apart. Wrestling shoes are made to be
worn on a wrestling mat only.
You will also get headgear. You must
wear a head gear when you are competing
in a meet. It is recommended that you
wear it in practice to avoid cauliflower
ear injuries. You should also
"sterilize" your head gear periodically.
Especially the chin strap! You may start
to develop a rash or infection from the
perspiration and rubbing.
Practice gear should be limited to a
singlet or shorts and a t-shirt. Putting
on 3 sweat shirts and a pair of sweat
pants to lose weight in practice does
not work. You will also get so hot that
you will not be able to endure the
workout.
12. Teamwork, Togetherness, Respect
When you are at practice, help each
other. Don't "take it easy" on one
another. Your opponent are not going to
"take it easy" on you during the meets.
Help prepare each other for the toughest
opponent, not the whimps!!
Stay
together and view the Matches
(JV/Varsity) get your head in the game
not "text" message your friend.
In the same respect, don't humiliate a
team mate of lesser ability. Be happy
that you are as good as you are and that
someone of lesser ability is trying to
"learn" from you! Teach each other how
to be better wrestlers and better
people. Respect each other, you are all
in this together. We all either enjoy
the season and are proud of it or not.
Remember, people will know your team and
its reputation a lot sooner than they
will know you as an individual. When a
young man walks on the mat with
"RAIDERS" on his uniform he will command
respect!
13. Weigh-Ins
When we weigh-in you should be stripped
down and ready when your weight class is
called. Nothing looks worse than a coach
yelling for some wrestler to get on the
scale.
You also should stand in line and keep
your mouth shut. Talking trash at the
weigh-ins will not win the meet for you.
Usually the guy doing the talking is the
one who chumps out on the mat. "Staring
Down" your opponent is also bush league.
Do it on the Mat!
If you are close to weight, get on the
scale before official weigh-ins start.
This is most important. Weigh-ins last
only a half an hour. I will stall the
start of the weigh-ins if it looks like
you are slightly over weight. This will
give you maximum time to get it off.
Once you weigh-in, get dressed and go
back to our locker room. If you are
going to eat something, eat right!! You
cannot "Pig-Out" and then wrestle
efficiently. Besides, you will have to
make weight again in a few days.
Thing not to eat after weigh-ins: Soda,
cake, milk, candy
Things to be eaten after weigh-ins:
Fruit, Vegetables, Sandwiches, Gatorade
14. Post Match Rules
At the end of your match, you must shake
hands with your opponent.
THIS IS A RULE!!
If you do not, they will deduct one team
point.
If you don't, I will deduct your
privilege to wrestle.
Whether you Win, Lose or Draw you must
shake hands!!
If you win you should be happy to shake
hands
If you Draw or Tie be happy you didn't
lose.
If you Lose, shake the hand of the man
that was better.
If you don't like shaking the hand of
your conqueror, DO NOT LET HIM BEAT YOU!
PAY THE PRICE!!
Also, No theatrics! Don't be sticking up
a finger like "We're #1"!! That's Bush
League.
If you are #1 everyone will know it
anyway
If you are not; you will look like a
jerk!
If you are defeated; get up at the end
and shake hands. Do not lay on the mat
like you were shot dead. It looks
ridiculous! No "crying melt
downs" control your self and your
emotions. It is ok to feel bad if you
lost. It shows you care. But
another day and another match will come.
In losing, you learn to win.
MOST IMPORTANT STOP THE CRYING DURING
THE MATCH. You are already beaten if you
start to cry. Buck up and put that
energy to get back in the match and WIN!

Judo
At X-treme Mixed Martial Arts we teach are students the art of Judo which is an Olympic sport with internationally recognized rules and regulations. There are divisions for people of all ages and sizes. Judo is a great activity and a superb way to get fit. The techniques used in Judo follow the body's natural movements, leading to the balanced development of the body, good posture, exceptional flexibility and improved stamina. At X-treme we will teach you all of
break falls, throw combinations, safety holds, groundwork, strangles, and joint locks. You will become very familiar with the fundamentals of Judo and be very confident in your ability to apply the
techniques learned during grade assessments and MMA classes.
Military Combat Sambo
Sambo is an acronym for Russian Samozashchita Bez Oruzhiya a highly effective
marital art. Techniques include striking, throws, takedowns, submissions, and chokes. it is a hand to hand combat system against
multiple attackers.
Jujutsu
The Matsoukis Shito-Ryu Karate, Kobudo, and Jujutsu Federation is an organization that trains and practices Okinawan style martial arts. We believe that a combination of styles is the best way for an artist to truly grow and understand the theories and concepts behind bushido and the martial arts lifestyle. Jiu-Jitsu was originally developed in India , but wasn’t popular until it was brought to Japan in the late 17th century. It was an art of self-defense that included joint locks, throws, chokes, and other grappling manipulations used to force their opponent to submit. The greatest aspect of Jiu-Jitsu is that it relies on technique and leverage rather than strength. Because the core controls many of the movements in Matsukazi Shito- Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, core exercises are a big part of every class.
MMA (Mixed Martial Art)
Well this is where the "rubber meets the road". At X-treme Mixed Martial Arts we will teach you MMA. Just like what you see on UFC. You become our
commitment. We want our students to train with us for a long time, and in doing so, you become efficient in our programs and you apply these techniques during your MMA classes. You will use all of our programs along with other techniques during your training. Simply put, you become a mixed martial artists. But this comes with a hard work and time.
